U-High Soccer Moves on in Regional

With Cayden Redd leading in scoring with four goals, the U-High boys soccer team passed the first round of the Class 2A Washington Regional on Tuesday. The Pioneers defeated Limestone 7-0. JD Kelley, Jett Jenkins and Levi Dale provided the other goals for U-High. The team is now 19-6 and advances to the title game on Saturday against Washington. Congratulations and good luck guys!

U-High Volleyball Scores 20th Win

Congratulations to the U-High volleyball team on their 20th win of the season! They defeated Chatham Glenwood 25-23, 25-15 at Chatham on Tuesday. Addy Loeffler had six kills and four and half blocks, Alexis Engst and Isabel Schaefbauer had eight assists and Amber Juarez had nine digs. Way to go ladies!

Coach Jeremy Stanton Named Coach of the Year

U-High is happy to announce that boys soccer coach Jeremy Stanton has been selected to receive the 2016-2017 NFHS Soccer Coach of the Year Award. The selection to receive this prestigious honor is based upon the positive work Coach Stanton has done with the athletes in our program. IHSA Sports Administrative Staff selected a coach from each of their sports and submitted Coach Stanton’s name to the National Federation of State High School Associations who sponsors the award. Coach Stanton and his staff lead a success soccer program having won numerous regional, sectional and super-sectional victories along with winning the state championship last year. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Boys Golf Finishes in Third at State

Congratulations to the U-High boys golf team on finishing in third place at the Class 2A state golf tournament this past weekend at Weibring Golf Course. The team was led by Dallas Koth who shot a 141 total and finished in second place individually. The other Pioneers on the course finished as follows: Ethan Huynh (156); Brevin Knight (159); Alex Kullman (159); Tony Palumbo (164); and Ben Bazan (171).

Parking Ban this Weekend due to ISU Homecoming

Due to the home ISU football game on Saturday, a parking ban is in effect from 10:00pm Friday night until Sunday morning in all of the U-High parking lots south of Gregory Street. No cars may be parked in the Faculty Lot, the Senior Lot, the Junior Lot, or the parking lot by the U-High tennis courts after 10:00pm on Friday through Sunday morning. Any cars parked in these lots are subject to tickets and/or towing. If you need to park at U-High during the parking ban for a school-related event, you may only park in the south section of lot F-93 on the north side of Gregory Street across from U-High. If you are parking in lot F-93 you must have a parking pass in your vehicle that is visible through your windshield. If you are leaving your car overnight due to a school-related trip, you must park in lot F-93 with a parking pass in your windshield. If you are entering the school on Saturday, you must be dropped off and enter through doors on the north side of the school.

Coaches and sponsors must communicate which door will should be used to enter the building. It is imperative that doors not be propped or unlocked at any time – make arrangements to have an individual at your chosen entry door to let others into the building.

Please pick up parking passes in the Main Office, the Activities Office, or from coaches or sponsors.

Athlete of the Week

Dallas Koth of the U-High boys golf team has been named an Athlete of the Week by WJBC! Dallas fired a one-under par to finish as the individual runner up for the second straight year at the Class 2A finals at the Weibring Golf Club in Normal. Congratulations Dallas!

Girls Golf Takes 10th at State

The U-High girls golf team finished this year’s Class 2A girls state golf tournament in 10th place. The tournament was held in Forsyth at the Hickory Point Golf Course. Maddison Murphy led the Pioneers and posted a 7-over-par 79 on Saturday. Overall scores were as follows: Lexi Onsrud (166); Jadyn Spinks (166); Jaiden Mapugay (172); Olivia Graham (180); and Abby Klein (199). Congrats on a successful season!
