The U-High boys swim and dive team won the Normal Community Sectional on Saturday! The Pioneers will be well represented at the state meet this weekend in Evanston. Colton Stogner won the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. Colton was on the winning 200 medley relay team along with Andy Ritsema, Harrison Fudge and Anthony Williamson. He was also on the winning 400 medley relay team along with Andy Ritsema, Anthony Williamson and Josh Nepomuceno. Harrison Fudge won first in the 100 breaststroke. Anthony Williamson and Andy Ritsema also qualified for state in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, respectively. Congratulations and good luck at state guys!

The Blair house is currently hiring for our serving/dining room position. The shifts are typically 1 ½-2 hours so it gives students plenty of time to focus on school, while getting a little extra money, and a great life experience. This position teaches responsibility, patience, and expands interactions with senior citizens. Students can contact Blair House for an application.

Congratulations to the UHS Chess Team on their 5-2 record at the IHSA State Tournament! The team finished 25th out of the 161 teams in the state. Freshman Joseph Suh went undefeated with 5.5 points on Board 3 at the tournament. The team also finished 3rd in the Central Illinois Chess League–Central Division with seniors Tanner Gillam and Vishvarath Balasubramanian-Karthikeyan finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.
An informational meeting for students and parents interested in participating in baseball, softball, girls soccer, boys tennis, and boys & girls track and field will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 6:00 pm in Stroud Auditorium. Individual teams will meet after the general meeting to discuss tryouts and other information specific to each particular sport.
