EIU Scholarship

Eastern Illinois University is offering a new scholarship opportunity. It’s a one-time, $2,000 scholarship for high school seniors in east-central Illinois who are leaders and role models in their community. The student will need to get a letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal or other mentor, as well as write a one-page personal essay addressing one of the following: How have you been a role model for students at your high school and peers in your community? How would you continue being a role model as an EIU student? Please provide examples of involvement, leadership, community service, and recognition.  There are no requirements for GPA or test scores. Eleven students will be chosen for this award, made possible by generous donations from Wells Fargo and other local businesses. They are encouraging other local businesses to donate to this scholarship fund, so that hopefully, it will benefit both students and the local community for years to come. Students must be admitted to EIU and turn in all scholarship application materials by March 15, 2018. To turn in application materials and find out more information about this scholarship, they can visit https://www.eiu.edu/ambassador-scholarship/.
