Graduation was held on Sunday in Braden Auditorium for our seniors and their families. These students were offered over $16,000,000 in scholarships to continue their education at colleges and universities around the country. The hard work and accomplishments of these graduates are evidence of the academic excellence here at U-High.

The girls track and field team had a successful weekend at the IHSA State meet!  Senior Lauren Seaver placed 9th in the pole vault and the 4×2 of junior Jessica McDowell, sophomore Rachel Kullman, and seniors Brooklyn Mosley and Carrington Walker placed 9th!  McDowell, Mosley, Kullman, and Walker also combined to run 4:00.17 in the 4×4 prelim, which broke the school record they set at sectional. The 4×4 placed 5th in the State finals! The U-High team had 22 qualifiers – tied for the second most in class 2A! Congratulations to everyone who competed and qualified!

Congratulations to the U-High boys tennis team! With 26 points, they won the team title at the Class 1A Sectional hosted by Bloomington High School. For the third straight year, Dorath Chamarthi won the singles title. For the second year, Josh Friesen and Carter Burk won the doubles title and will be heading to state. Also heading to state is Vishnu Anagani in singles and Thomas Moh and Mason Runkel in doubles. Congrats and good luck guys!

This weekend the U-High baseball team participated in the Champaign Central Tournament. In the first game against Rantoul, the Pioneers won 2-0. In the second game, U-High beat Champaign Central 15-4. Congratulations guys!

This year’s track and field Class 2A sectionals was hosted by Dunlap. The U-High team finished in second place with 91.5 points, one point behind first place. Jared Schuckman won the 800 and came in second in the 1600 behind Matt Zacharias who won the event. Caleb Diffor captured first place in the triple jump. The U-High 3200 relay team also came home with a first place finish. The team will now be heading to the state tournament. Congratulations and good luck!
